Academic Center
Plans to renovate the former Jesuit Residence attached to the back of the Gesu Church will add 52,000 square feet of usable space to the Prep Campus. This large building, originally constructed in the early 1900s, has sat mostly vacant for the past quarter century.
An estimated 16 New Classrooms, including a new Fine Arts Studio, will occupy the top three floors of the five story building while new spaces will be allocated on the lower floors for administrative offices and a new state of the art Communications Center. In addition, a permanent home will be established for many of the Prep's historical documents and the Gesu Church's collection of relics in the Archive Library and Heritage Room.
This large addition to the Prep Campus will connect to the main building via a new bi-level Connecting Link. The link will provide easy access from all five floors of the New Academic Center to a new centrally located Dining Commons in what is currently the Multi-Purpose Room.
