Connecting Link
To accomodate the extra traffic flow of faculty and students to New Classrooms in the New Academic Center the existing Link will be doubled in size.
The Link Corridor that currently occupies the ground level space between the Gesu Church, Multi-Purpose Room, Kelly Fieldhouse, and Jesuit Residence will be slightly reconfigured to provide a more welcoming path between the first floor of the new Dining Commons and the first floor of the New Academic Center. The demolition of walls nested between the Multi-Purpose Room and the Kelly Fieldhouse will allow for an inviting entry way to the Fieldhouse.
The more notable change will be the addition of a completely new Link constructed directly above the existing one. This new corridor will connect the second floor balcony of the Dining Commons to the third floor of the New Academic Center via a terraced walkway. This path between the brick walls of the Gesu Church and the Kelly Fieldhouse will also provide more convenient access to the suspended track and recreation areas in the Fieldhouse.
Both levels of the Connecting Link will originate near the Ignatian Heritage Room in the Dining Commons. At the other end the hallways will connect to a new staircase tower before entering into the New Academic Center via a common lounge area on each floor.
